The Sacramento Valley Sheet Metal, Heating and Air Conditioning Training Center (Sacramento Valley Workers' Apprenticeship Program) located at 1624 Silica Avenue in Sacramento is the place to start! The Center attracts bright, young people who are looking for a job with good training, competitive salaries and great benefits. The Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association, and our member contractors –– the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) –– have enjoyed a long partnership of cooperation to bring this program to students who qualify. Their apprenticeship programs allow sheet metal students to work while they train. For those who complete the apprenticeship program, the industry offers many rewards, in terms of job opportunities and standard of living. You’ll be part of an industry that has an outstanding record for steady employment and advancement opportunities.

To begin your career in sheet metal, you will be asked to take a written exam to establish your aptitude for the industry. We are looking for willing, skillfull, trained craftsmen for our apprenticeship program. Once accepted, your on-the-job education will last four to five years, with the ability to earn a salary while you’re training.
